Lusaka, August 4--Mr. Cai Jibo, Chairman of Sinomach Hainan, led a delegation on a research trip to Zambia from July 28 to August 1 (local time). The delegation met with high-level Zambian officials including the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. They signed a cooperation agreement for an agricultural land development and demonstration planting zone project with the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), paid a courtesy call on Han Jing, the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia, and conducted a series of business activities. Mr.Li Guang, Deputy General Manager of Sinomach Hainan, accompanied the delegation.

To advance Sinomach Hainan's agricultural land development and demonstration planting zone project in Zambia, Chairman Cai met separately with Reuben Phiri, the Minister of Agriculture, and Crusivia Hichikumba, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. He also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project with the Zambia Development Agency.

During the talks, Chairman Cai noted Sinomach Hainan's achievements over years of deep cultivation in the Zambian market. He expressed the desire to jointly explore development paths suitable for Zambia's national conditions with the Zambian government, work together to implement the Zambian government's agricultural development plans, and explore the feasibility of establishing an agricultural machinery assembly line in Zambia.

Minister Phiri stated that Sinomach Hainan's agricultural development plans in Zambia align closely with the Zambian government's agricultural strategies. He pledged full support for the swift implementation of the project to benefit the Zambian people as soon as possible.

Furthermore, Chairman Cai exchanged views with Mr.Mainga Mukando, Chief Investment Officer of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC)– Zambia's state-owned investment platfor–and his delegation on cooperation proposals for government-planned agricultural zones and key next steps.

To promote Sinomach Hainan's cooperation in Zambia on drought-resistant projects and other key water resource utilization projects, Chairman Cai led the delegation to visit the Zambian Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation, where they were warmly received by Collins Nzovu.

Chairman Cai pointed out that Sinomach Hainan will next adhere to the principle of mutual benefit, focusing on five key areas: dams, pump stations, urban and rural water supply, rainwater harvesting, and water quality protection & capacity building. He also stated that integrated "solar + water" systems are a key solution to Africa's water supply challenges. Sinomach Hainan will leverage its expertise in photovoltaic design and modular integration to help build a green, efficient, and sustainable water supply system.

Minister Nzovu highly commended Sinomach Hainan's role in Zambia's water sector, welcomed the company's provision of integrated solutions, and expressed hope for assistance in addressing water pollution issues in mining areas. He also urged the acceleration of drought-resistant projects for the benefit of the people.

During the visit, the delegation toured the 97th Zambia Agriculture and Commercial Show to understand local market demand for agricultural and construction machinery.

At the Chinese Embassy in Zambia,Chairman Cai and his delegation communicated with Ambassador Han Jing, Minister Counselor Wang Sheng, and Commercial Counselor Jin Jun regarding China-Zambia economic and trade cooperation, the local political and economic situation, and cooperation opportunities in agriculture, infrastructure, and other fields.
