Lusaka,May 9---China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC) Zambia Branch, a subsidiary of Sinomach Hainan, handed over Zambia’s biggest water conservancy project to the Zambian government after the completion of China-aid Kafulafuta water supplyproject.

At the handing-over ceremony, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema said that the project has elevated the water supply capacity of the Copperbelt Province to unprecedented levels, injecting strong momentum into local development. He added that Kafulafuta water supply project not only demonstrates the profound friendship between Zambia and China, but also marks a new elevation to bilateral relations.

Located in Zambia’s Copperbelt Province, Kafulafuta water supply projectintegrating a dam, water transmission pipelines, pumping stations, and urban pipeline network upgrades. With a total reservoir capacity of 125 million cubic meters and an annual water supply capacity exceeding 100 million cubic meters, the project delivers clean water to surrounding citiesfor nearly one million local residents, significantly improving water supply reliability and quality standards.
