Permanent Secretary of Zambia's Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection and his entourage had come to visit CCEC
On November 13, 2017, a delegation led by Dr. Edward Chomba, Permanent Secretary of Zambia's Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection and ATHANASIUS KASUBA MWABA, General Manager of KWSC (owner of the Kafulafuta Water Supply System Project) visited China National Complete Engineering Corporation (CCEC). Executive Qu Qingzhu and Chen Ming, General Manager of the No. 2 Engineering and Trade Department were present.
During the visit to China, the Zambian delegation will inspect the materials (ductile cast pipe, valve, water meter, etc.) for the Kafulafuta Water Supply System Project in Beijing, Handan, Xuzhou, Suzhou, Taicang, Shanghai and other Chinese cities, and confirm product specifications and types to make preparation for CCEC's domestic material purchase and dispatch in the next period. The two sides exchanged ideas on the visit schedule and strengthening project cooperation. Dr. Edward Chomba spoke highly of CCEC's professionalism and pragmatism, expecting for more opportunities to work with CCEC in Zambia's water supply field. Mr. Qu Qingzhu said that CCEC would tighten control in design, construction, purchase, supervision and other procedures, in an effort to deliver another outstanding project to the Zambian government.
With a total contract amount of some 449 million U.S. dollars and a construction period of 42 months, the project is expected to break ground in April 2018. An amount of 135 million U.S. dollars has been in place and early works are under way.
