On 23rd August, 2016, representatives from the Client-Ministry of Works and Supply of the Republic of Zambia officially handed over the project site to CCEC, subsequently CCEC organized to undertake the geological survey, which marks the preliminary work of this project has entered a new phase.

On 26th October, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Zambia made the payment of the first 15% advance payment amounting about 24 million dollars to CCEC, marking the project duly comes into effect. The contract price of this project is about 159 million dollars, and the construction period is 36 months. The project is esteemed to be commenced in the first half year of 2017.
